Paul is op dit ogemblik nog zeer optimistisch en heeft geen tekenen van vermoeidheid. Zijn collega op kop houdt er een zeer wisselvallig tempo op na; maar Paul probeert een vast tempo aan te houden.

Una competizione di alto livello tecnico sia maschile sia femminile. L’evento ha il giusto clima di una grande 24 ore. Dopo 13 ore di gara i 5 uomini e 3 donne italiani sono tutti in gara, con Tarascio e la Zoboli in prospettiva per un risultato di prestigio.

Ik kan iedereen gerust stellen, alle Nederlanders van het nationaal team zijn nog in de race. Welliswaar na het overwinnen van wat dipjes hier en daar, maar dat hoort bij het ware leven van de ultramarathonners. Heel toepasselijk staat vlak voor de doorkomst een bordje “werk in uitvoering” in de berm. Aan de weg wordt niet gewerkt, maar wel OP de weg!
