Europe135 Ultramarathon
The Europe135 leads on 135 miles/217 km of broad and marked trails up to the Karwendel mountains. The finishing location is situated at 2244 metres a.s.l.. The Europe135 will be carried out as a non stop ultra trail with a cumulative altitude difference of 3000 metres.
The time limit is 54 hours.
Start: August 31, 2011 at 4:00 a.m. in Niederaichbach.
Finish: Upper station of the Karwendelbahn cable car in Mittenwald
Before the start, every athlete is obliged to present a medical certificate not older than 30 days.
Every athlete and crew member is responsible for his own safety.
The entry fee is 495 Euro.
Only athletes that meet the athletic requirements will be admitted to the Europe135. Furthermore, each runner has to provide a support crew of at least two two and at most four crew members plus a four-wheeled motor vehicle. The athlete may only and exclusively be catered by his crew.
The participation in the Europe135 may turn out into a risky and possibly perilous undertaking for every athlete. In addition to the high physical and mental strain caused by exhaustion, heat and lack of sleep,typical mountain dangers like falling rocks or sudden weather changes may occur in the last quarter of the course.
